It is supposed to rain for almost the entirety of this trip. I'm kind of looking forward to spending countless hours in cafes sipping coffee while I read.

I say I don't miss Christmas at home, and it's true, but that doesn't mean I don't miss home. The whole idea of Christmas has just changed for me.

Walking home from the watching the Packer game after being thrifty with my money. I put my ear buds in and remember who I am as my favourite song comes on. I am so happy to be me.

I walked past and old folks home near the "artsy" suburb on Hamburg. As I watched one group all eating there dinner together at 5pm, and another playing a game of cards I had to wonder what these homes will look like for my generation. It saddened me to think about how isolated we will all be.

My heart breaks now when I watch movies where young people in love say goodbye just because of distance. I know it's a big factor, but it is ONE factor.

Some things that changed about me in 2018
1. I would rather travel with someone than travel solo
2. I'd rather have a nice glass of red wine that most beers
3. I love the love of teaching
4. I became debt free
5. I started running again
New Years Resolutions:
1. Find the love of teaching again
2. Live in the same place as him
3. Less screen time at home and put my phone away when I'm out
4. Less Drinking
5. Try new recipes/ learn to cook meat
6. Play my guitar more
7. Now that I'm out of debt, start saving (15 grand by the end of the year)
8. More running, another half marathon, more races
9. Write more for myself and record these incredible experiences and feelings
10. Minimize the things I have and don't buy any more worthless stuff.
